You are running Exchange 2007 or 2010. When opening Outlook Out of Office (OOF) you get the error
“Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable.”

On the PC hold down the CTRL key and right click on the Outlook icon in the bottom right hand corner. Select “test email autoconfiguration”
Run the tests – this should show you what URLs are being used. In particular interest is the OOF URL
There are various things to try.
- On the PC make sure you have installed the latest service pack for office. If using Office 2007 make sure sp2 is installed.
- On the server make sure you have installed the latest service pack for exchange
- Can you ping the host of the URL
- Can you browse (in IE) to the above OOF URL? If not are there any errors – e.g. certificate errors or permission errors. You should get an output similar to the below. (you may need to login to view this page).
