Scenario:

  • Trying to setup a phone to connect to an Exchange 2010 server – setup fails with “Activesync error 0x85010014”
  • Other users are successfully able to use activesync to receive emails on their phones
  • Software affected – Exchange 2010, any activesync mobile client such as windows mobile, iphone, android etc.

 

Solution:

I have seen this issue when inheritable permissions are not set on the users active directory account. Open Active Directory Users and Computers and make sure the below tickbox is checked.
